Pandora's annual Club Charm features a sparkling diamond, as a lasting tribute to our loyal fans.

The diamond is a crystalling mineral made of pure carbon and is created hundreds of kilometres beneath the Earth's surface under intense heat and pressure. It's carried to the surface by volcanic forces. Diamonds are found in many countries, from remote deserts to frozen tundras.

From the Greek word "adamas", which means invincible, unconquerable and unbreakable. It references the diamond's extreme hardness.

Multiple processes are required to transform a rough diamond into a jewellery stone. Rough diamonds are divided by sawing and then shaped in a process called bruting. Blocking and brillianteering facets the rough diamond, which is then polished to increase its reflectivity.

Diamonds are at the top of the the Mohs scale, which is used to measure the hardness of minerals, and are rated a 10. Diamonds are the hardest substance known to man and has superior resistance to scratching and chemicals.

Diamonds with colours that are outside the scale are known as "fancy colour diamonds."

Avoid rough handling and store diamond jewellery separately to avoid scratches. Ultrasonic cleaners should be used with caution as they can damage heat-treated diamonds and diamonds with imperfections that can't be seen with the naked eye.
